Sainte Croix Painting Holidays France

Painting Holidays * Painting Angles
 Painting Angles Minimize

2010, will be our twelfth year for Painting Holidays in Angles sur l'Anglin , where we offer seven weeks at Sainte Croix. The tutors joining us this year are our regulars Liz Butler, David Howell, and Brian and Maggie Robinson plus, for the first time, Robert Brindley.  More details about our tutors can be seen on separate pages.

In Angles sur l'Anglin, guests have a choice of accommodation .

Sainte Croix House  is in the 'ville basse' near the river and is where all meals are taken.

L'Ancienne Charcuterie  is in the 'ville haute' and also houses the painting studio. The walk takes about 6/7 minutes.

We have built a reputation for both the quality of tuition and Nicole's cooking which gives you that special French flavour.

We provide Full board accommodation with Breakfast, Lunch, afternoon tea and a four-course Dinner with wine.

Nicole will give that special French flair by introducing you to regional French dishes. Her vinaigrettes are greatly appreciated - a different one for each style of salad. John will introduce you to about twenty different cheeses during your stay.

For more details about the accommodation please see the separate page.

The Holidays based in Angles sur l'Anglin, are run on an 'informal houseparty' style which most of our guests enjoy.  We aim for up to 10 guests with usually a maximum of eight painters unless the tutor agrees to take on more. Non painting partners are welcome.  We have a high proportion of guests returning for "more" and are running seven weeks in 2010 in Angles sur l'Anglin.

The day starts with breakfast at  Sainte Croix House  at 9 am.  At about 9.45 your tutor starts gathering everyone for the morning session which lasts until 1 pm with lunch at  Sainte Croix House.  After lunch you are free to carry on painting, relax by the pool or visit some of the local attractions.  We usually gather again about 5 pm for afternoon tea and  cake by the pool.  After tea, tutor then takes you for the evening session of about one and a half hours.  Very often this session contains a demonstration or tuition on a subject chosen by the group.  Between about 7 pm and dinner at 8 pm, many people go for an aperitif at one of the cafes on the village square.  Then dinner at  Sainte Croix House  with wine and coffee.

For the comfort of all guests, both houses are strictly  'no smoking'

Please see the separate pages for details about our tutors and tuition, prices, dates and the booking form.
