TUITION

We are pleased to have five professional artists with us this season, Stephen Marytn, David Howell, Brian and Maggie Robinson and Liz Butler, offering high quality tuition and support.  The most popular medium is Watercolour but other media are also catered for.  The painting and drawing tuition is usually en Plein Air and is designed for all levels, from beginner to the more experienced painter.  A fully equipped Painting Studio situated in L'Ancienne Charcuterie, is available for use on the rare wet day and also for those of you who wish to 'carry on' when the others may be relaxing by the pool or soaking up the atmosphere on the village square!

This is, after all, a Painting Holiday with no formal exams at the end of your week.  The tuition is friendly and informal on a 'one to one' basis, allowing you to develop at your own pace knowing that the tutor is on hand to help with drawing, composition, perspective, colour mixing, colour theory, mixed media experiments etc.  All our tutors encourage students to develop powers of observation and personal vision and to experiment with media, enjoy painting and be creative.

Most Tutors will do demonstrations, often in the evening session.

      WHAT WE PROVIDE.

Some of the finest locations right on your doorstep.  Buildings, reflections, trees, flowers, animals,  people, landscapes, cliffs, cafe scenes, bridges, old water wheels, old mills, weirs - the list is endless.

Easels, boards and water containers, both in the studio, and for en Plein Air

Tables and proper chairs for studio work and portable stools for en Plein Air work.

Use of two boats on the river Anglin.  A flat bottomed barque and a large safe canoe.  What better way to paint reflections than from the river?  It has been known for us to serve a picnic lunch downstream at one of the mills if we have good weather and group consensus.

Full board accommodation with Breakfast, Lunch, afternoon tea and a four-course Dinner with wine.  Nicole will give that special French flair by introducing you to regional French dishes and cheeses.  Her vinaigrettes are greatly appreciated - a different one for each style of salad.  John will introduce you to about twenty different cheeses during your stay.

Tea, coffee and soft drinks are available throughout the day on a "help yourself basis"
